Forever, Incomplete.

Dear Self,

We are grateful. Our body, mind, and spirit are in sync. We are living in alignment with our heart. We have all that we desire, lacking nothing. We know that should there come a time for us to want something new, something different, something more, we must do one simple thing – ask.

Once we release our desires into the universe, our journey changes. WE then become programmed to do the work that is necessary to become fulfilled within these new interests. It’s a call and response. An action and reaction. We have the power to live as we truly wish. Our mission is to have purpose and protect our peace.

We feel rich knowing that we have peace of mind. We feel strong, sturdy, and grounded, knowing that we’ve built this from the ground up. Our foundation is made of self-love and patience. Our prayer is to continue to live out loud, live fully, explore the world while we can, and to truly love others so that the love we receive is pure, genuine, and gentle.

What do you do every day, to practice self-awareness?

Treat yourself, write your desires, and follow through with actions – for, they speak louder than any words you could ever write or say.

The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is hosted every year during the first weekend of February, displaying colorful chrysanthemums, damask roses, and so much more. Just near the city center, the streets are filled with vendors of plants, flowers, orchids and garden decorations. Overall, the city is beautiful, and has the rich vibe that speaks to my soul. The flowers that fill the streets is life’s way of reminding me to laugh, smile, and keep things simple.

Nature in general, always finds a way to gently tap me on the shoulder and whisper how magical it is to carry on organically. In translation, I typically hear a drawn out whimsical tone, with the following words recited, “Just be yourself.” Whenever I hear that, a weight is lifted, and there becomes less pressure in understanding the particular reason of why I’m here. Just a soul aware of the possibility in having a spiritually satisfying human experience. The idea is to gracefully learn from all that enters and exits my life, and see how those things contribute to my wild growth. For that reason, I’m grateful for the variations of my surroundings. With each clarifying day, I’m inspired to remove anything that I  consider “clutter,” by focusing on what is essential to my growth.

“She is like a wildflower, beautiful, fierce and free.”

Often enough, there’s so much that distracts us from keeping life simple, and I find the presence of flowers to be one of many stimulating experiences that gracefully gestures organic beauty.

The next time you stop to smell the roses (when you look at yourself in the mirror), remember:

“Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace.”

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

“Happiness blooms from within.”

“She sprouted love like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined.”

“Like wildflowers, you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.”

“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it, it just blooms.”

“You are not your roots, you are a flower grown from them.”

“May the flowers remind us why the rain was so necessary.”

How Far I’ll Go.

Happy is also the girl who quits a job that would prevent her from making dreams come true!

Happy is the girl who takes risks.

Happy is the girl who prefers to be optimistic.

Happy is the girl (this girl), who travels the world!

With each day, I realize the true power of my thoughts, and I am constantly noticing my life shifting. “Change the way you see things, and the things you see will change,” right?

Right!

As time carries on, I find myself enthused by tapping into the secrets of life, realizing that all I have to do is remain in alignment with what makes me happy, and indulge in that! I’m a curious being, and that curiosity forces me to wander, fearlessly. Embracing the magic of change! I just want to experience things for myself, and connect with others!

Anyone who knows me, is well aware that I love to write, travel, paint, work with children, did I say travel? I’m really grateful for the people in my life who pay attention, and support my dreams. Over the summer, my brother sent me a link to apply for a travel program called Remote Year. He somehow got an idea that it would be perfect for me.  I don’t like to drag out a story, so short story long, lol – just kidding… long story short, I applied, was accepted, and I leave to travel the world with a group of 50 other people in the next few days! Over the course of a year, myself, and this group will be living in 12 different international cities for a month at a time. If this is something you’ve ever considered, imagined, dreamed of, check it out – Remote Year!

Happiness is possible. I really don’t know how far I’ll go, but on my way, I’m taking all of my dreams with me – to the line where the sky meets the sea, the trees, the bees, the everything! I’m excited to actually focus on blogging about my travels, and I’m curious to know what my audience would like for me to share. Comment below!

Excerpts from an open letter I wrote in 2015.

Love brings out all things possible. It brings fascination. With love, you learn compassion. You learn courage. You learn confidence. You learn strength. You learn peace. Most of all, you learn selflessness. Love is the one action that will allow you to find your passion. It will lead you to live well and to do good for others – to do good in the world. It will allow you to affect others in ways unbeknownst to you. As Maya Angelou puts it, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Love does that. With love, you find compassion, inspiration, respect, truth, discipline, and so much more.

Passion is that little voice in your heart that says, “You can be and do whatever it is you FEEL.” Passion is so inspiring, because sometimes it may bring you to a point where you are knocking down barriers; it allows you to be different and to be accepted for your differences. Passion allows you to illuminate from within. Passion is your motivation! Once you’re passionate about something, you then have to find the confidence to own it. Once you find the confidence to own that passion, well then it’s time to gather the courage and put fear behind you – because life is about to take you on a ride!
I have a passion to help others and I have a passion to be creative. I am a writer, a photographer, a traveler, a painter, a volunteer, and a conscious human becoming. I am love. My passion for writing brought along the interest to write and publish my very first children’s book, Peers, Cheers, and Volunteers. It’s a story that highlights the value of volunteering and caring for others. I simply tied my two passions together! What are your passions?

I think our responsibilities, as humans becoming is to be conscious of life. What does it mean to be ALIVE? You are here, and that only means that you are powerful! You have the power to take yourself on a journey; the journey of your dreams. What does it mean to be a human becoming? It means that you can dream, and you can live that dream. You are at the point where you are daydreaming, fantasizing, and looking forward to all of the wonderful things you will do in YOUR life.

Let’s live lives doing the common good. When you are truthful with yourself and release the love you have within, you will have set yourself free. May your heart allow you to live a fulfilled life loving others throughout the world as best you can! And, when people ask you who you are – you’ll be able to give them an answer other than a job title.

Lastly, I want to share with you a dear friend of love; they share an invaluable relationship. Faith! Have faith, and you will find your way to anything you could ever want (and much more) – because the magic is, that it already exists! Read More

Art Event Announcement: DMC Original’s Shape Your Peace

I’ve been working with paint colors since 2010. I coordinated volunteer events for people to paint murals at schools and community centers, but I was no artist. At least not until two years later. I became inspired to spread paint over blank canvases, similar to the way I’ve crafted words together to create stories. I was exploring a new creative outlet, a new type of journal. I am expressing myself through blended colors and golden highlights.
I began posting photos of the finished pieces to my social media networks, and surprisingly received a lot of feedback from my peers. They seemed intrigued. They’d hit the “Like” button on Instagram and Facebook, then followed up with a comment or private message, “how much?”. When I sit down to paint, I never know what’s going to be created, until it’s complete. Sometimes I reveal pain. Sometimes love. Sometimes hope. I noticed that no matter what story the painting is telling, there is always a search for peace.
After almost three years of painting and having created over 100 pieces, I held a premiere art exhibition for DMC originals in October 2015. It was a solo show that took place at Amarachi Lounge in Brooklyn, NY. The show was entitled “Everything that Glitters is Gold”. I wanted my paintings to encourage people to see the possibilities. As they scanned their eyes over the layers of paint from each corner of the canvas, I hoped for them to see that they were on a journey: jumping over forced shapes, sliding down blended colors, climbing up impulsive angles, inspired by bold golds, all in search of the peace everyone is trying to find. A great amount of people showed up to the exhibit, and my art was just as well received as my children’s book during the signing for Peers, Cheers, and Volunteers in 2013. I loved that I was able to bring people together for an evening filled with art, love, laughter and an open mind for creativity. Many went home that night with their very own DMC original. I was lifted! In that moment, I felt that I was in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing – existing in part of my purpose.
So, I’m indulging again! I invite you to come out to Verboten in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Saturday, January 30th from 5-10 pm for an evening of art in every form, a PHD Experience (see flyer below). DMC originals will be on display, in addition to live music, dance performances and so much more.
When I think about the people who have DMC originals on display in their homes, I hope they understand that they have more than just a painting. It is mostly my intention to inspire them to see beauty in all things.

Forever, Incomplete.

I am not now, all that I’ll ever be. There’s so much more to me. A flower blooming on any day. I make a way. No road blocks, only detours. I see more. Beauty, in all things. Color, in darkness. I am the light. A responsibility to seek possibilities. I am hope. I am power. I have the key to open the doors. Seeking more, and more. Unstoppable. Running. Looking. Touching. Feeling. Carrying on. I glide from the inside. There’s peace on my trail. The trail I create. Every experience has its lessons. So many blessings. I’m grateful. Thankful, to know that there’s always more. As long as I’m alive, there’s always more. An opportunity to inspire. A chance to make change. A moment to rearrange, thoughts. No mistake is made twice. After the first, it then becomes choice. Wisdom. Look back on history and apply it to the future. Choosing the battles. Choosing the beauties. Choosing the legend. With faith, I’m fearless. Compare less. This is my journey. I am the writer of my story. No lies. Destiny. Forever on my team. I cheer for me. I’m here for me. Incomplete, for eternity. I am not now, all that I’ll ever be. There’s so much more to me. I am possibility. It’s true, you are too!
